Friction

Friction is really useful. If we didn't have friction it would be hard to stop. It's bad too, because you can hurt yourself. When you fall the friction rubs off your skin. When you rub the carpet with your hands they get warm because of the friction causing heat energy. Tile floor has much less friction than carpet. Why? It does because the carpet is so bumpy and the floor is so smooth. If you push something it would keep going for a long time, if there was no friction. In our class we did a friction experiment. We did it about cars, we made a ramp then we let cars go down the ramp. We then measured how long the cars went on carpet, tile and cardboard. The car went the fastest on the tile floor.
